We had fun today making a graph about our favourite treat we got when we went trick or treating. Each student made a small person that they will use this year to show us what emotional zone they are in when they come in to the class for the day. We used our 100s chart carpet to record which type of candy they like the best by making a graph that gave us information about what treat was liked the most and the least. You can see some of our little people in the photos.
We did our first big independent writing today about Halloween. Students wrote about their costume, who they saw when they were out, who they went with, if their bag was heavy, etc. We brain stormed ideas together and gave them a bank of words they could reference. We also encouraged them to use 'best guess kids spelling' to record the sounds they heard in unfamiliar words. Take a look at some of the writing we did today. Everyone worked so hard and showed progress in their writing.
