Yesterday we read a story called 'I am Human' by Susan Verde and Peter Reynolds. We also watched a video by Will.i.am and the characters from Sesame Street called 'What I Am'. Here is the link to the song. What I Am. Students then were given the opportunity to draw a picture of themselves telling us about themselves, beginning their sentence with 'I am...'
Today we discussed safety and how we can be safe in all areas of the school. We watched a video of a story called 'Officer Buckle and Gloria'. Check out the link if you are interested in watching. Officer Buckle and Gloria. We then talked about different rules and ways we can keep ourselves and others safe. Students practiced listening to simple instructions to use a ruler to draw lines, put lids on markers, push in chairs and take care of the materials in our classroom.
We are settling in and making lots of new friends. Ask your child to tell you how we use our mouths and nose to make sounds.
