This week we began learning the routines for our literacy program. Students have been solving messages from the teachers that tell what is happening that day. The messages are missing letters and the students use their knowledge of letter sounds to try and decode the sentences. They are practicing forming their mouths to make specific sounds as well as using their fingers to 'sky write' in the air to form letters correctly.
Today we learned about Vincent van Gogh and looked at some of his works. We then focussed on his sunflower portrait. Students practiced drawing sunflowers after a model and while looking at many examples of sunflowers. We will be using oil pastels to colour these in on Monday so keep your eyes open for future pictures of our work.
