Your child's spring photos are coming home today. Please check their backpack.
Mrs. Brice's class had fun in inline skating today and found they were making progress and building resilience. Many students left their helmets at school as they have it again on Thursday. Mrs Bredahl's class has their last lesson on Thursday as well.
We will be sending home new reading passages in your child's blue duo tang this week. These are passages that practice the VCE (vowel, consonant, e) patterns that we were targeting before the break and are reviewing this week. When your child returns their duo tang we check to see if they have read and drawn a picture to match the text. This way we can check their comprehension. If your child has not read and drawn a picture for the pages in their duo tang we will not be sending home books to read as the pages in their duo tang are exactly at the place we need them to practice as we move on to new skills and these readings are priority over books.
Please print and return your child's permission forms, for our field trip next Wednesday, as we need them in order for them to attend. These were emailed out before the break. Please let us know if you have any questions.
Today in social studies we began learning about rural and urban communities. Students learned that Calgary is an urban community and has lots of traffic, buildings, stores, people etc. Rural communities have lots of open land, more animals, less people, traffic and buildings.
