Some interesting facts about Thursday, March 21st, 2024
- This day brings awareness to all of our friends in our community who have Down Syndrome. Down Syndrome is nothing to be afraid of, in fact people with Down Syndrome have more things alike than different.
- Just like you and me, we all like to have friends and feel included. People with Down Syndrome aren’t so different than us! They can pretty much do all the same things, it just might take a little more time or support. What makes them special is that they have an extra chromosome.
- March 21st, is a very special day because it is the third month and the 21st day. People with Down Syndrome have 3 copies of chromosome number 21. So, it just makes sense that we celebrate and build awareness on this day!
