Today is Earth Day and our classes spent time talking about different ways we can take care of the earth. We learned more about recycling, reducing, and reusing. Students learned about the importance of clean water, the dangers of trash, broken bottles etc. and then wrote to Na'a (Mother Earth) and made a promise to take action to protect her. Ask your child what they are going to do to take care of her.
We also used tissue paper to create a collage of blues and greens to represent the earth in art. Ask your child to tell you what was challenging about this project.
As both of our classes are practicing for the grade one assembly on May 10th we are having our music classes together to begin practicing. Students will have an opportunity to play an instrument, speak, act or MC during this assembly. More information will follow. Due to us having music tomorrow, Mrs. Brice's class will not have library until Thursday with Mrs. Bredahl's class. Your child can still return their library books before that if you wish.
