Hello families,
Today was bring your favourite book day, if your child forgot to bring one today please feel free to send it tomorrow. Mrs. Bredahl's class had a guest author in today to read two of her books to us. Ask me what they were about. On Friday students are reminded to bring a flash light to read with.
In science we have been discussing animals in the winter using the book "Over and Under the Snow". The students drew a picture in their visual journals to show their knowledge of the different animals and then we are now going to be building a class collage with each child representing one animal. Ask your child what is one animal they would find under the snow and and one they would find above the snow.
In math we have been working on our number to 100 counting by 2s, 5s and 10s. Please practice this with me at home as we are doing an assessment on Friday. Today we also reviewed all the 2D shapes we know and tomorrow we will be using shapes to build a monster in our journals.
In literacy we are working on learning our long vowel sounds. Today we introduced the long "a" which was created with the bossy e at the end of word.
