Thank you for all of your support on our Home Reading program. The students were excited to change their ticket and colour their first dot if they returned their signed ticket. We are sending the same poem book home today. Evidence shows that the more students reread familiar text, the more confident they become in reading new text and using their skills to decode a new word. If your child has a book at home they like to read, that counts too! Any reading counts towards a signed ticket and getting to colour a dot towards reading 100 nights this year. Please return the duo tang tomorrow with a ticket.
Reminder that tomorrow is our first Fun Lunch. If you ordered your child lunch it will be delivered to the class by our wonderful volunteers. If you did order, your child will still require a snack for our morning break. We have one fun lunch a month and you can set up an account on the website 'Healthy Hunger'. You login and order lunch for your child if you would like.
Today we learned more about Terry Fox and why he is recognized with a special day and run every year. Our Terry Fox assembly and run is this Friday. Copperfield School is raising money to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. We have some teachers who have volunteered to receive a pie in the face depending on how much money our school raises. If your family would like to donate to our fundraising, please send in a 'Toonie for Terry'. We have grade 2 students who come around every morning to collect donations.
Mrs. Bredahl's class has library on Thursday.
